Dirk Willem Postma

Dirk Willem Postma is Associate Professor Community Work at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. The participatory research projects of his research group focus on issues of civic participation and client participation in the field of social work. One of the research lines is dedicated to collaborative investigations into the success factors of Peer Support – understood as an umbrella term for mentoring, buddy projects and related arrangements of non-formal learning and peer support. Our research group works closely together with professionals and volunteers of the regional mentoring programmes Mentorprogramma Friesland and VerbindMij.
