On the 17th and 18th of March 2016, the first European Mentoring Summit took place in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. The Summit brought together professionals, practitioners, researchers, mentors, corporate partners, government and civic leaders who represent the mentoring movement.

The event lasted 2 days and incorporated three major themes:
• Mentoring in an economically vital region.
• Developing research lines for Evidence-Based Mentoring.
• Mentoring, a powerful 21st-century tool: Best practices.

The summit offered European mentoring organisations the chance to build new bridges together for the future. The Summit came after a previous event in 2014, also in Leeuwarden, where the European Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring was born.
